Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund
The DMAF is aimed at strengthening the resilience of Canadian communities through investments in infrastructure projects, including natural infrastructure projects, enabling them to better manage the current and future risks associated with natural hazards, such as floods, wildfires and droughts.
Applications will be accepted at any time before the portal closes on July 19, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. (EDT). Organizations are encouraged to submit their proposals prior to the deadline if they are ready earlier.

The Government of Canada is investing $14.9 billion in federal funding towards new public transit infrastructure projects over the next eight years. These funds offer cities and communities predictable transit funding to plan for the future, create jobs, fight climate change, and grow the economy.
Green and Inclusive Community Buildings (GICB)
The Green and Inclusive Community Buildings (GICB) Program is launching its second scheduled intake and is now accepting applications through the following intake streams:

Eligible applicants with large projects to retrofit existing community buildings or projects to build new community buildings with total eligible costs ranging from $3 million to $25 million can apply now until February 28, 2023, 15:00 ET.
Continuous
The GICB Program continues to accept applications from eligible applicants for small and medium sized projects to retrofit existing community buildings ranging in total eligible cost from $100,000 to $3 million until February 28, 2023, 15:00 ET.
Reaching Home: Canada's Homelessness Strategy
Reaching Home: Canada's Homelessness Strategy is a community-based program aimed at preventing and reducing homelessness across Canada. This program provides funding to urban, Indigenous, rural and remote communities to help them address their local homelessness needs.

VHP - Veteran Homelessness Program
The Veteran Homelessness Program (VHP) is part of the National Housing Strategy, a suite of federal housing initiatives designed to improve access to affordable and safe housing for all Canadians. The new program provides $79.1 million in funding: $72.9 million in funding for rent supplements and wrap-around services, such as counselling and treatment for substance use, through its Services and Supports Stream. In addition, the Capacity Building Stream will provide $6.2 million in funding to support research on veteran homelessness and capacity building.
Research and Knowledge Initiative (RKI)NEW
The Research and Knowledge Initiative (RKI) is a national merit-based contributions funding program from Infrastructure Canada that funds projects focused on key Government of Canada research and data priorities related to housing, infrastructure, and communities. This competition invites projects that are focused on applied research that includes or examines specific interventions and that contributes to solutions for addressing Canadian housing and infrastructure needs.
The Research and Knowledge Initiative call for proposals is now closed. The deadline to apply was February 12, 2024. Projects are currently being assessed and all applicants will be informed of funding decisions.
